Kelly's two wheel challenge, travel powered by sandwiches!

Kelly Moss, the coordinator of EmpowerWA partner 'Living Smart', writes about the journey she had on the road to Living Smarter.

I participated in a Living Smart Course in Fremantle at the end of 2012. I was looking forward to learning more about how I could live more sustainably in my own home and to meeting other people that were motivated to create change on a local level. Our group was very diverse with people of all ages and backgrounds which made for some interesting sharing and conversations.

EMPOWERWA launch

The EMPOWERWA project was officially launched this morning.

A big thanks to the Greenhouse for providing the venue, and to our fabulous speakers from this morning, Josh Byrne, Piers Verstegen and Zaneta Mascarenhas.

Perth Zoo about to become a powerhouse

Perth Zoo installed 303 solar panels in March, giving them the capacity to generate 120,000kWh of energy each year.

At a cost of $2.7 million, the 90.9kW system marks the completion of the first stage, of a two-stage process, of Perth Zoo’s partnership with the Solar Cities program.
